Let's be clear - we're talking about closures of Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants, not some other item or thing that also has the same acronym as KFC.The Telegraph reports that people in the UK are calling police stations over the closure of 900 KFC outlets across the country. The Twitter account for Tower Hamlets Metropolitan Police Service posted this message earlier today, specifically asking people not to contact their station over the so-called KFC Crisis.Apparently, the problems lie in a supply chain mix-up which saw KFC shift its supply and delivery of chicken from South African distribution giant Bidvest to DHL. The situation is that dire that some KFC outlets are even reportedly trying to procure their own chicken from local butchers so that they can open up shop and meet customer demand.
